Welcome to JTAN

Japanese Teachers' Association of NSW was established on the 1st April 2005 as a non-profit, educational organisation for all teachers of Japanese in New South Wales. Its acronym is JTAN. The main aims of JTAN are to provide a place of mutual support and professional development for member teachers of Japanese in NSW. We hope this website will be of help to you.

JTAN Annual General Meeting (AGM)

The 2017 JTAN AGM will be held at Japan Foundation, Sydney, on 21st October (Sat.) .

JTAN Secretary has sent all JTAN members the Notifications of AGM, new Committee Nomination form and Proposed JTAN Constitution (2017) on 15th September. All JTAN members are invited to attend the AGM. This is an important AGM as we need to amend the constitution (special resolution) in order to comply with the Association Incorporation Act 2009 and Association Incorporation Regulation 2016. When this amendment of the JTAN Constitution is approved by the majority of the members, it will be submitted to NSW Fair Trading. If you are unable to attend the AGM physically, please participate in the decision makings online. Both Voting form for special resolutions and Proxy forms are in the Vote tab. The forms are open from 15th September until 13th October 2017. If you have not received the Notification of AGM, please contact enquire@jtan.org.au.

(APS 5.3.2, 5.4.2, 6.2.2; 2hours)

In the second session, you will be divided into groups of Beginners, Continuers and Extension teachers, and practise marking by using the HSC Marking Guidelines. This session will be useful for teachers who have not experienced marking HSC papers in the Marking Centre.

We ask all the participants to send some student responses to 'Writing in Japanese' tasks to jtan.workshop@gmail.com by 15th November for printing. The responses should display the question and student's response but no teacher's annotations or student names. (APS 6.2.2, 6.3.2, 7.4.2; 2 hours)
